A first-floor dual access door allows for the whole house to be rented. The Bumpus House has two accommodations: The “Hound Dog Haven” suite on the first floor can accommodate up to 4 guests per night and the “Stolen Turkey”suite, which encompasses the second and third floors, can accommodate up to 6 guests per night. The motif for the interior of The Bumpus House is vintage eclectic in a 1940’s style with a slightly hillbilly Bumpus flare while still providing all the modern amenities. The Bumpus Hounds are famous for harassing Ralphie’s Old Man and stealing the Christmas turkey. It is the fictional home to Ralphie’s hillbilly neighbors, the Bumpuses, and their 785 smelly hound dogs. The Bumpus House is located just to the left of A Christmas Story House. The rate for bookings begins at $395 per night and varies with the season. Sleeping arrangements include a queen bed, queen sleeper sofa and Ralphie and Randy’s twin beds. The loft area is equipped with a bedroom, living room, full kitchen and full bath. The house can accommodate up to 6 guests per night. Please note the we have extended tour hours during the Christmas season. Overnight guests have use of A Christmas Story House’s private third floor loft for the entirety of their stay and use of the whole house from an hour after closing until 9 am the following day. Spend the night reliving your favorite movie and sleeping in Ralphie and Randy’s beds. A Christmas Story is a 1983 Christmas comedy film directed by Bob Clark and based on Jean Shepherds semi-fictional anecdotes in his 1966 book In God We. Tickets purchased online are typically shipped via First Class mail. Please note, tour times are subject to change and depending on the amount of guests on site we may have to switch to self guided tours. Tickets for the last tour are sold up until 4:30pm to allow guests to join the ongoing final tour of the day. Tours begin at 10:15am and run every half hour. Tickets are good for both the House and Museum. Tickets can be purchased both online and in person at our Gift Shop.
